<description>I was really interested to read about Pass IT On as my day job is working for the national charity Carers UK - it campaigns with, and for, people who provide unpaid care by looking after an ill, frail or disabled family member, friend or partner. I will check that my colleagues are also aware of this as it looks like it could be really helpful on a couple of fronts. firstly, we&#039;re keen to help ensure that as many carers as possible get connected and secondly carers themselves are also a very good route to getting their relatives, friends and partners online (around 3 million carers combine paid work with unpaid care and many are also seeking to return to work so there are potentially alot of people who could be involved here).
Getting online is very important for carers - firstly, as a key way of getting information about the health condition of the person they are looking after, and access to disability benefits, care and support etc, and secondly if the person they are caring for can also get online that can also help them to manage their own health condition, get connected with other people, keep in touch with other interests and feel less isolated etc.
Carers UK manages (this is my day job!) an employers&#039; forum, Employers for Carers, which provides practical assistance and information for employers seeking to support the unpaid carers in their workforce so I will also pass this information on to our employers.
So, really interesting information and thanks for forwarding it on to us
